Beneath the breathtaking glass pyramids of the Muttart Conservatory, guests gathered on April 15th for an evening filled with gratitude, knowledge, and inspiration.

Presented by the Royal Willow Society as a part of the Legacy Lecture Series, the event brought together supporters, community leaders, and future changemakers to amplify and discuss the importance of planned giving. Surrounded by 700 plant species, live violin music, and breathtaking art, guests explored the Conservatory’s four botanical pyramids—each bursting with life, colour, and inspiration.

The Royal Willow Society was created to recognize and encourage estate gifts to the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation. This evening was a way to say thank you—to honour those who have made the incredible decision to leave a lasting legacy, and to spark thoughtful conversations about the power of planned giving.

Guests were treated to insights from two remarkable speakers. Dan Hague of IG Private Wealth Management offered expert advice on high-value philanthropic planning for individuals and family legacies, drawing from over 20 years of experience and a long history of supporting local causes. Dr. Colin Peterson, Facility Medical Director at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and a hospital representative for the Foundation’s Board of Directors, spoke from the heart about the impact of philanthropy on healthcare innovation. Though he leads strategic improvements at the hospital, Dr. Peterson reminded us that his true grounding comes from time spent with patients in Emergency—where every dollar donated can mean a life saved.

It was a night of learning, connection, and gratitude—set against a stunning backdrop that echoed the growth and renewal made possible by generous hearts.

Thank you to all who joined us for this meaningful return to where it all began. Your support ensures that the care we give today builds a healthier tomorrow.
