Posted on: Nov 17, 2023

Thank you to Tiny Footprints for including the Lois Hole Hospital Perinatal Bereavement Program as one of the beneficiaries of the Starry Nights Gala 2023. Your support is very much appreciated.

Tiny Footprints YEG hosts an annual event called the Starry Night Gala to raise funds for local organizations and resources to support grieving families journeying through pregnancy and infant loss.

On October 21st, generous supporters came together for the Tiny Footprints Starry Night Gala YEG and raised more than $40,000 for several pregnancy and infant loss support programs across Alberta. We are honoured that once again a portion of the funds will go to the Perinatal Bereavement Program at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, among other beneficiaries.

On behalf of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women and Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation please join us in extending a heartfelt thank you to Tiny Footprints YEG for their continued support!

The Perinatal Bereavement Program at the Lois Hole Hospital offers outpatient support and counselling for all losses at any gestational age. The Early Pregnancy Assessment Program specifically supports all losses under 20 weeks, while the bereavement program also provides inpatient support for losses after 20 weeks or following birth. The program coordinates the hospital burial program for Alberta Health Services and Covenant Health and the annual May Memorial, and is also responsible for collecting and distributing donations of memory items to grieving parents, such as teddy bears, blankets, and print resources.

Thank you as well to the leaders and supporters of this very important and meaningful program.
