Our Hospital, Our StoriesSupport Better Access to Mental Health this Giving TuesdayPosted on: Nov 27, 2018
The season of giving and getting has officially begun with the arrival of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year make an impact while buying a gift. Honour a loved one with a donation that will improve access to mental health care for all who need it.
Giving Tuesday is what many refer to as the “Opening day of the giving season,” it’s a time when charities, companies, and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. In the same way that retailers take part in Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the giving community comes together for Giving Tuesday.
This Giving Tuesday support you can make a difference through your meaningful donation to the Addiction and Mental Health Access 24|7 clinic that is soon to open its doors at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
Statistics say that mental illness indirectly affects all Canadians at some time through a family member, friend or colleague. What if that person is someone you love? In any given year, 1 in 5 people in Canada will personally experience a mental health problem or illness. What if that person is you?
Currently, when an individual is seeking addiction or mental health support in Edmonton, there are many doors to walk through, and many incredible services to choose from, but it can be difficult to determine which door is the right door to walk through for help.
Your Giving Tuesday gift to the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation will change that through the creation of this new single access point for addiction and mental health services in the Edmonton Zone.
