On Thursday, June 26th, author and historian Carolina Jakeway Roemmich along with our foundations' President and CEO Sharlene Rutherford had the opportunity to sit down with Global News Morning's Daintre Christensen to talk about the major undertaking of telling such a lengthy history.
Several topics the trio discussed were the variety of tensions and rivalries present at the time of the hospital's founding, the role and importance of nurses, the significance of the hospital to Edmonton's identity and sense of place, and how much of our community can tie their own history to the Royal Alex—with so many parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents who were born or worked at the Alex.
We encourage you to watch! You may learn a few new facts about a hospital that is so near and dear to our hearts...
