Thanks to the generous, overwhelming response from our donors, we were able to create a temporary Staff Rest Area for Royal Alexandra Hospital frontline care providers who need a place for quiet and composure.

Recently, the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation sent out an email asking for urgent donations to help ease the stresses on our emergency department and our frontline healthcare workers.

And wow, did our donors step up and deliver.

Thanks to the generous, overwhelming response from our supporters, we were able to create a temporary Staff Rest Area for Royal Alexandra Hospital frontline care providers who need a place for quiet and composure.

As the Royal Alex emergency department staff continue to fight hard to keep up with the increasing pressure on our system, gestures such as ensuring our frontline healthcare workers have a place to rest are essential in supporting their mental health and wellbeing.

Inside, the space is furnished with individual soft seating, small side tables, and plants to give this dedicated space a sense of calm, quiet and solitude—see below for a few photos of the new area.

We can’t thank you enough for helping us show our thanks to Royal Alex frontline staff. Donors really do make the difference!
