Stories of HopeA Record Breaking Evening at Holts for Hope 2017

Posted on: Mar 21, 2017

Just as spring was about to dawn in Edmonton, Holt Renfrew opened its doors to host Holts for Hope 2017; a private shopping event and fashion show in support of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women.

The now annual event was once again an incredible success. With hundreds in attendance cocktails, appetizers and shopping were the focus, and a portion of the sales were donated back to the hospital.

Guests sipped, nibbled and shopped the night away raising a record breaking $17,074 in one night! The proceeds from this year's event will be the first corporate donation made to the newly developed Lois Hole Hospital Women's Society

Hosted by Krista and Andrew Ference, in collaboration with Holt Renfrew, the event profiled Holt Renfrew’s spring fashions in a runway show featuring some of Edmonton’s most familiar faces.

“I’ve been very fortunate to learn about the amazing work that is happening at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, and the incredible impact the hospital is having on women in the province of Alberta,” stated Krista Ference, Director, Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation. “As a board member I wanted to give something back so I decided to combine two of my passions; the Lois Hole Hospital for Women and shopping!”

Holt Renfrew staff were ready to serve, and the cash registers were certainly on fire blowing previous charity shopping events held at the location out of the water.

“I think it’s incredible the amount of support we received,” shared Rob Mendoza, General Manager, Holt Renfrew. “I think Edmontonians have big hearts and they certainly showed it tonight in support of this amazing cause.”

“Our foundation would like to express our most sincere thanks to Krista and Andrew Ference, to the Holt Renfrew team, and to all of the evening’s incredible sponsors,” said Sharlene Rutherford, Vice President and COO of the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation. “They are all making a true difference for women in the province of Alberta and they should be so proud of what they have achieved.”
