"Cardiovascular health is important for everyone, regardless of your age, and I think that the Royal Alex and the CK Hui Heart Centre do an incredible job at providing cutting edge therapies to patients and their families."

From training staff on new medical initiatives to teaching new nurses and staff from both the Provincial Critical Care program and Coronary Care unit, Denaine Lozza wears many hats at the CK Hui Heart Centre, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I have worked at the CK Hui Heart Centre for 20 years, first as a Clinical Care Nurse and now as he Clinical Nurse Educator,” says Denaine. “We get to see so many successful treatments here and it makes it such a rewarding place to work.”

Denaine started her career in a rural hospital, where coronary patients would receive initial care before being transferred to a cardiac care center. It was here that her passion for cardiology began.

“I developed an interest in cardiology so I studied critical care and came to work at the CK Hui and I have been here ever since. I love the Royal Alexandra Hospital! There is such an incredible atmosphere of teamwork here and to see how that teamwork supports, not only our patients and their families but each other as well.”

“We have such a diverse team, with a mix of very new staff and people who have been with us for decades! The physicians are incredibly supportive and innovative. They bring a lot of new research and technology to our program and it is so satisfying to see that work implemented and to see how it benefits our patients.”

“Cardiovascular health is important for everyone, regardless of your age, and I think that the Royal Alec and the CK Hui Heart Centre do an incredible job at providing cutting edge therapies to patients and their families. We do a huge amount of work and procedures in cardiovascular health here and I think that any patient who comes here is very fortunate.”
