Spring 2008 Speaking of Health

 

The Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation is pleased to present its Spring 2008 Speaking of Health lecture series. These evensessions are free to the public and take place from 7pm-9pm at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Community Services Centre gymnasium. Address is 10415-111Avenue NW.

Free Parking
The orange arms will be raised to allow free access to the parking lot located on the north side of Kingsway on the far west side of the RAH campus.

 

Please Note: Seating is limited and registration is on a 'first-come, first-served' basis. If a program you wish to attend is filled to capacity you will be notified as soon as possible after we receive your registration; otherwise please consider your registration confirmed.

The First 60 Minutes After a Heart Attack
Presented by Dr. Neil Brass

Few medical emergencies command more urgent attention than heart attack or sudden cardiac arrest.  Dr. Brass will present the latest finding about emergency procedures and the new equipment doctors are using when seconds count.

Presented by Dr. Arya Sharma

Despite the hundreds of miracle diets out there., dieters continually find themselves back at square one.  Dr. Sharma will explain why our bodies are hard-wired for weight gain and what we need to do to take back control

Postpartum Depression
Presented by Dr. Neelam Mahill

Postpartum depression affects one in five women after childbirth and impacts the mother, her baby and loved ones.  Dr. Mahil will outline some of the risk factors, warning signs and treatments available for an illness that is the most common cause of disability in women of child bearing years.
